kolkata slips to #6 with this awesome batting display!  :icon_thumleft:  :icon_thumleft:

They deserve to be @6 ..... I guess they r redefining the laws of probability on being consistent suckers , they r expecting their bowlers bailing them out everyday... In the same context, SG's captaincy and form hasn't been inspiring either ....

SRT says "it's not the age - but talent"

hehe - he is totally for the geriatric crowd - cites J'surya and Pollock as examples!

SRT should have said 'it is not age, but fitness'. Guys like SJ, AG, MH, SP, AS, GM are all supremely fit. They can match any Indian player in fitness. That is the reason they succeed.

I was on the road and come back to see this massacre.  What happened there?
To me the most embarassing defeat of a team in the IPL even counting the first game drubbing of the BRC by this KKR team.  Nothing went right for them which for most part was brought upon by themselves.  To me the most insipid batting lineup of all the IPL teams.  They need to open with someone better than Chopra for starters.

and someoen who can catch better than chopra!!!

if sanath hadn't gotten going, match wouldve lasted at least 10 overs!!!

Two consecutive innings from SJ  :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

Wish he had a slightly bigger total to chase, how unfair to make him stop at 48!

haha ! what a pathetic effort.

seriously a team that boasts batsmen as illustrious as chopra, butt, hussey, hafeez and saha deserves this kind of thrashing.

sg is by a long way the best bat in the team - by a long way !!

why bring mods into it, I made the post as a member.

and why would I be frustrated ?

however, coming to the crux of the post, I said that because it is curious that your support keeps changing to whoever KKR is playing.

I mean it would be understandable if the team you support were playing kkr (as in brc vs kkr) or if kkr's loss in the game at hand would have helped brc in the qualification stakes, or if you picked a team to support for every ipl game (i dont recall seeing too many affidavits of support in the other 3rd party games).

so the comment was based on what is available on the surface based on many of your prior posts. at the same time, i could be wrong, which is why you have the option of responding and explaining the reasons behind your support. which you chose not to but might in the future to dispel my "misconceptions", hopefully.

Hussey also did well in that DC game where he cracked a 50 at 200+ S/R.  I think he is ok, nothing great.

Smoke on the slaughter

As his team is shot out for 67, SRK lights up to deal with the stress

Posted On Saturday, May 17, 2008

This might give Anbumani Ramadoss more reason to rant against celebrities smoking in public places. But a hassled Shah Rukh Khan could not have worried less about the Union Health Minister's feelings on Friday evening; he had enough of his own as, one after the other, the batsmen of his IPL team Kolkata Knightriders made a quick exit from the crease at a packed Wankhede stadium and were bundled out for the lowest total yet in the tournament.

From the start, it seemed as if only one team was celebrating, and after Salman Butt, Aakash Chopra and David Hussey were out in quick succession, a nervous SRK clandestinely lit his first cigarette to avoid being snapped by the paparazzi.

Barely had he finished his first smoke, when Mohd Hafeez was caught, prompting him to light another one, and as Wriddhiman Saha slashed into Tendulkar's hands, SRK was anxious enough to pull one more out of the bag.

The only hope left was Ganguly, and when he too nicked to the keeper, SRK perhaps knew his team had little chance. So cigarette number four came out and was smoked in full public view. SRK, clearly, was more worried about his team than about Mr Ramadoss's sermons.

*  SRK lights up as David Hussey is out soon after Salman Butt and Aakash Chopra
*  One more needed as Mohd Hafeez walks back to the pavilion soon after

*  The third has to be pulled out as Wriddhiman Saha too doesn’t last long
*  And, after Ganguly goes, hope is lost, and the fourth one can be smoked in full public view

Ganguly says he doesn't mind batting first because he feels he has a bowling attack good enough to defend a target.
Obviously you can defend only if your batsman score something!

HOLY MOTHER OF GOD. WTF happened here.

Just saw the score.. after a long day on flights.

Why would KKR play Chopra.. why not open with Saha.

Why bring in Hafeez ahead of Gul?

Oh man.. they have dropped to 6th place on NRR.. what a drubbing!!!

This is not good for SRK's health..

Mumbai is rising fast.. and getting their act together at the right time!!! WOW. What a tournament!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Surely there is something in the wicket. Teams batting first here have found the going tough all through. Though this effort by KKR is the pits. At the very worst I expected 120-130.

I wonder if there is any law in India against smoking in public places. I'm not sure if cricket stadiums are smoke free zones or not. I think they might be, to ensure public safety in times of terrorism. So, can SRK be prosecuted for smoking in smoke free zone, now that we have photographic evidence?

Hmmmm... I wonder why everything has to be seen through SG lens. It is laughable, really. And then to see SG fans complain that non-SG fans bring him into every thread is even more laughable.

Having said that, let me answer your query. I dislike SRK because I don't like him as a person. It has nothing to do with cricket.

Also, hate is a word that you have chosen, maybe because you chose to bring SG into it. My chosen word was dislike... Just so that I am clear.

Glad I made you laugh. Given that you dislike SG (admitted before) and clearly dislike SRK (obvious from posts) a question about the reason is seeing it through the SG lens but your enquiry about SG's p***s size is incidental.

Ruchir - not trying to pick up an argument (I don't think I contribute enough to the DG to criticize the stalwarts here).

But I have always wondered why someone dislike entertainers passionately.
I can understand disliking politicians (like Nehru-*hi Clan/thackery) for taking the country down the drain, I can understand dislike for particulars sportsmen for letting the country down by not playing well and not giving way to more deserving players, I can understand the opposition to illegal immigrants for impacting legal residents lifestyles, I can understand even anti-gay sentiments for the perceived impact on society.
but actors - good or bad - are totally dependent on public likeability and you can either choose to see them or ignore their movies/shows.
With the innumerable movies made you always have the choice, they don't impact the country pride/finance/foreign policy etc.

I dislike person A and B. Person A and B are in entirely different fields of work but are temporarily related (professionally). By what logic can any one say that I dislike person B as a result of his association to person A, because I dislike person A too? I fail to see the connection, may be you can so it might be helpful if you can explain that to me.

As for inquiring about SG's p***s size, again, how is it related to SRK? I fail to see this connection too.

Edit: Edited the word p***s.

Hey man, no need to worry about arguments.

As an individual, I have the right to like or dislike another individual, based on my opinions of him. Yes, I can choose to ignore this person too, and I can choose to like or dislike him too. In SRK's case, I choose to dislike him rather than ignore him. It gives me satisfaction when I write my dislike of him.

Q. Why do I dislike him?
A. Because I find him to be a pompous person, a narcissistic person, who always craves for self importance, always want to be the center of attraction. I dislike this quality. In film industry, I see many actors who are better actors than SRK (Amitabh, Aamir), but don't indulge in his kind of self importance. I see actors who are as successful as SRK (Akshay Kumar), but don't indulge in his kind of self importance. And I see a non-actor like SRK who calls himself King Khan!! Believe me, the title 'King' was not given to him by film media. He devised this title himself and made his pets in film media call him that in their articles/write-ups. You may not believe it, but it's true.

Anyways, to cut a short story long, I dislike SRK because of the way he chooses to behave and carry himself.
