I feel Butt is too good of a bat to keep on failing ...my guess is Gul goes out , Shoaib comes in . Kartik might go out ...but then we have a problem with bowler, i dont think SG is that good of a bowler to contain hard hitting batsmen in their top form

I think Akhtar will be a disaster as he has been for the Pakistan team.

He should be OK for 4 overs of bowling and negligible fielding and batting.
My only worry is....in the beginning he may end up giving a whole lot of wides and byes....over our little wicket keeper Saha.....especially with field restrictions. I think, with Akhtar bowling KKR needs a good, solid wicket-keeper.

Although Umar Gul was not as great in the last match, still KKR does not need the unpredictability of Akhtar.

i disagree..regardless of his problems, almost 80% of the time akthar has been a formidable bowler and esp. when he has to bowl short bursts

He has to bowl only two 2 overs spells.........which is OK. ONly his fielding will be a liability. I wish though, both Gul and Akhtar plays.

Shoaib seems to be fit, Buchanan says decision will be made just before the match, he did bowl 6 overs today at full runup.Though by looking at the video it seemed to be he has shortened his run up .

As per playing Chuckther, based on earlier press conf , SG wanted to play him but Buchanan did not.
At this stage. I have not seen Akhtar in this format , but somehow think he has the potential to stray a lot if couple of nudges fly past for four.  If played he would be more of a wicket taking bolwer than defensive bowler. This means the 4 overs have to be given earlier than later.
I do agree with some comments that KKR should not gamble at this stage when next couple of matches are crucial.

You mean captaincy.. yeah. He is still better choice than VVS.
After y'days game it is obvious the team is mentally not there.. no interest, no pride, going through motions. SAD to see professionals come down to this.

I think Delhi has an identity crisis of sorts (we will still thrash the KKR is besides the point).

They have not figured out whether they are a batting team or a bowling team. Why was Asif not played yesterday?

If we feel our bowling is strong then we should stick to picking the five good bowlers and Asif has to be a part of it.

From a batting perspectice benching Malik was a good move. We are missing a good foreign bat ... AB is just not cutting it. We need someone like Bravo or another big hitter who can score a few quick runs in the middle. Its a shame that after having such a good opening combo we have no one to keep the momentum going.
