how does an on-field umpire come to know....if there is any coverage available or not?!...that too within seconds of the incidence!

The power in the 3rd umps booth had gone down.. and nobody informed Davis that the power had come back.. so he was operating under that assumption.

I saw Steve Davis refusing the appeal straight-away, without bothering to check with the 3rd umpire. How did he know at that stage that the 3rd umpire doesn't have a footage ( which in itself is a wrong assumption...the footage was there for the asking).

I agree, It was not very clear, it looked like the ball touched the ground.

because 3rd ump informed the on-field umps around 8-9th over that there was a power-cut and he doesen't have feed. He never bothered to inform them again when feed/power was back. So, on-field umps - Davis and Rudi were still working with the assumption that they could not refer any decisions.

What a load of crap. If all the lights in the stadium can be lit why can they not ensure that the 3rd umpire camera feed etc are also not affected, since it is such an important aspect of the game.

Sehwag in the press conference said 3rd umpire not informing the on-field umpires that his feed is back was not in the spirit of the game  ;D ;D ;D
