« on: May 05, 2008, 06:37:53 PM »
Can someone point me to the best site (or travel agent) to find domestic Indian airfares? Both Economy and Business.

Thanks

Yes...yatra.com is the best site to know all the available the flight schedules and fares to some extent.
But the best way to book the tickets is to go to the concerned airlines sites directly...for ex    flykingfisher.com.........jetairways.com...........airdeccan.net.........goair.com........goindigo.com............indianairlines.com......spicejet.com....etc.

makemytrip & yatra are very efficient ... they give you multiple options in terms of flights and have a reasonably good service desk as well

but, plz don't do your booking thru these sites.......many ppl have had bad experiences............it is better to use them for reference purpose and book the tickets from the original airlines' sites.

I find them good(yatra.com)... bought tickets for my BLR-PUNE - BLR trip recently and found them to be pretty convenient...lists all the flights in that sector with the rates... pay online...print e-ticket... what more can one ask for ?

It is a different matter that the flights don't take off on time... congestion, in coming flight delayed and now the latest..."we were ready for take-off but the ATC did not grant permission"  ???

I agree .. i have made bookings quite a few times on both yatri and makemytrip without any hassle.

Delays cannot be avoided these days at most airports. However, I would strongly advocate not going in for some of the low cost airlines .. especially Go Air. These guys suddenly cancel / reschedule flights if they do not get enough bookings for that day. I have had good experiences with SpiceJet though.

I agree with blwe - use these sites as reference and choose the best option, then go to that airline website directly and buy the tix - the prices are similar +/- 50-100 Rs.

Actually, when I fly to Chennai from BLR every 2-3 wks, I just go to the airport, check which flight is on time nd buy the tix at the counter directly at pretty much the same price - because there every airline has a flight to chennai from BLR between 6-8 pm :D :D

Let me see you do this after the Airport moves to B'lore North  ;D ;D

Would rather drive down...20 mins from city to EC ... 4 hrs from Electronic City to Butt Road ... and 10 mins from Butt Rd to Guindy...

When Airport moves.. 2hrs to Airport.. 30 mins check in time... 25 mins travel time.. 25 mins check out time..  1hr to city
