Among the 2 I am with DDD , this team looks more indianised. But the first game was an easy one for them. The real test lies now. As i mentioned in other post , DC captain has to do some thinking abt himself, as he may be becoming the RD of ODI, difficult to find a batting order for him.

DIFFICULT TIMES: Delhi Daredevils’s Glenn McGrath and Deccan Chargers’s Nuwan Zoysa may find the going tough on a flat wicket.

Hyderabad: After losing its opening game, Deccan Chargers will hope to post its first win when it takes on Virender Sehwag-led Delhi Daredevils in the DLF Indian Premier League at the floodlit Rajiv *hi Stadium (Uppal) here on Tuesday.

With the wicket looking full of runs, Deccan Chargers could open with Adam Gilchrist and Shahid Afridi — a dream combination for the fans and a possible nightmare for the fielding side. Laxman may also tinker with the bowling line-up, given that the performances on the Eden Gardens wicket were aided by what he termed as a “shocking wicket, not fit for any form of the game”.

The strip here could well test even bowlers such as Sri Lankan Chaminda Vaas and India international Rudra Pratap Singh. In all likelihood left-arm spinner Pragyan Ojha, who picked up the important wickets of Saurav Ganguly and Mohd. Hafeez at the Eden Gardens on Sunday, will be retained.

Andrew Symonds will again be crucial to Deccan Chargers’ hopes of posting a challenging score. The team’s captain Laxman will also be determined to prove a point in this format of cricket.

For Delhi Daredevils, Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Glenn McGrath and Daniel Vettori would be crucial to making a huge impression on the game. The team should be confident after winning its opening game against Rajasthan Royals.

The match begins at 8 pm. The pre-contest show beginning at 6.30 pm will feature a show by the Indi-pop group Bombay Vikings, an entertainment programme by Allu Arjun and other Tollywood stars, sky-diving and fireworks. Chargers captain V.V.S. Laxman was confident on match eve. “The wicket looks good and should be full of runs, and we have a balanced side,” he said. “The Kolkata experience was one-off.”

Looks like there will be a lot for the Australian cheerleaders, specially brought in by Deccan Chargers, to make a song and dance of. The Chargers of course are trying to put behind their loss to the Kolkata Knight Riders and the dodgy Eden Gardens pitch on Sunday. Delhi skipper Virender Sehwag also appreciated the Hyderabad wicket. “I am sure a lot of runs will be scored on it,” he said.DC will use the home advantage and can rest assured that the pitch here would be a sporting one. With big hitters like Andrew Symonds and Adam Gilchrist in the side, the game is nicely set up for the hosts, whose batting line-up has been bolstered by the arrival of explosive Pakistan batsman Shahid Afridi on Monday. With a convincing win against Rajasthan Royals under their belts, the Delhi team are likely to get a trifle overconfident, an area the Chargers would like to exploit as they push for points. That sets the stage for a run riot and an eventful evening.

As I understand this is one import that will end soon. There is a bunch of Indian girls being trained for cheerleading and for all you know we will be exporting this talent soon.

CLR:Just showing my allegience to the city I grew up in and from. Honestly 20/20 is not cricket in toto which I agree with but this is a first of a kind where Hyd. got a franchise which I am just excited about and joining the bandwagon. So for now I am just going with what has been offered.

though in my fantasy league I have picked Deccan as winners, I think on this pitch, where batsmen from both sides are expected to score heavily, lack of quality bowlers is going to hurt them.

Thats true. But DDD also dont have guys who cant hit like Venu and VVS. Almost everyone is capable of hitting sixes. Tiwary, DDK, and Bhatia are all capable of big hitting though not same as Symmo or Afridi.
