TO RUCHIR WITH LOVE
« on: March 29, 2008, 02:12:45 AM »
I will be highly impressed if i see at least one credible response !

Dr Ruchir said "Point is not that SG was away from the ball. Point is that he did not even try to stop or get close to the ball. Point is that he gave up."  based on this  video with his third eye

here is the commentery from CI

115.1 Harbhajan Singh to Amla, FOUR, Amla moves across his stumps and sweeps Harbhajan from middle stump towards the fine-leg boundary, Ganguly has no chance of cutting that off

OH MY GAWD !!!

I can't believe my eyes? Now SG bhakts are quoting Cricinfo (the site)? They really think Cricinfo (the site) is reliable in any way? Oh, wait... I get it. Cricinfo (the site) is writing something that supports their point of view. That's why they are quoting it. God forbidding, had Cricinfo (the site) written about SG dropping a catch, they would have torn that piece of commentary to shreds saying how biased Cricinfo (the site) is toward SG.

Niicceeee.......

even an established biased site couldn't blame SG - ergo it was impossible to cut off that 4.  [god]

He should have flown. If GC was in charge, someone else would be in that position instead of Ganguly. Then even pigs would fly.

Ruchir,

You seriously thought that ball could be cut off by a fielder ? I mean any fielder, not Ganguly ? ::) ::)

I can only hope for your sake your earlier comments were a joke  ;)

welcome kban

apparently an easily stoppable boundary as i understand per ruchir.

having seen it albeit in recording - i did not think so.

i am scared, however, that i,  being already labelled a gangulian (inappropriately so IMO, to yours and others chagrin) dont want to rock the already leaky boat.

What can I say Pitamah? Anything I say about SG is treated as a joke. Welcome to the thread anyways. Sure, SG could have flown to the ball, MSD could have sprinted to the ball, some forgot to say that that handicap child (who follows every India game) could have stopped the ball. It's just that no one is ready to believe that SG could have stopped the ball had be been more alert. That's all.

BTW, this discussion was already happening in another thread. Will this thread scare away the new guests, who might be browsing through the DG? Just asking, because the DG patrol makes this scare away argument on threads of certain members, but is missing on this thread.  ;D

That argument is obviously only for certain members. Or should I just remove the 's' from the members.  What do you expect when on the page with 10 threads by ONE person ... four being inane rahu ketu threads .... they pick a Ganguly thread to complain about.

On the fielding itself. The point no one is understanding is that a cricketer ... a decent fielder ... would anticipate the ball .... Pip made a joke of it. A good fielder, even at our level , watches the batsman and is moving at the time the stroke is played. Add some quickness and committement and you could get to that ball.

Problem with SG is that he is such a poor fielder that he cant even anticipate the ball and then moves slow and on top of that gives up early. Dive marne ka sawaal hi paida nahin hota.

What are you going to do

For that the person themselves needs to have credibility. Just because he has a 'clique' or a 'gang' of followers doesnt make the credibility any better

By that token you or Ruchir should have a lot of credibility when it comes to SG ::Whip::

Unfortunately after seeing this video, people not belonging to the gang or clique would seriously doubt that credibility claim  ;)

I'm sure the reverse can be said about those who think SG has no chance of stopping the ball. The video, IMO, vindicates my view of SG showing slackness.

i think this is where "transition yoga" comes to play. now, if only SG had a powerful transitional yoga guru guiding him, he could have conveyed his desire to the yogi who in turn could have sent extremely powerful vibes to the ball, changed its course and sent it towards SG.

SG should consult sreesanth pronto.

to stop this particular boundary, transition yoga may have had more success coz no other normal human being would have stopped it either.

10.2 Harbhajan Singh to Smith, 2 runs, Smith moves his front foot across and sweeps powerfully to deep square leg where Ganguly runs quickly and dives to save the boundary, well fielded!

This clearly shows that AK must have given an earful to SG and it worked!! SG can do it, but only when he is forced to.

And then we beat our chests and lament that posters are ruining the "DG experience" .....

More chappel bashing? And what was that about the top threads on the DG being full of hate?

Oh I forgot ... if it is against Chappel or Dravid it is not Hate but if it was against Ganguly it would be.

Apologies, I should have made sure I hunted up EVERY inane thread and commented on each of them. To rectify this, I'll start by making a chart with a list of perceived Gangulians and non-gangulians, making sure I do not miss out anyone- In this regard, I would appreciate it if CP could do me a favor and mail me the one he obsesses over every night while he's plotting up clever schemes to equalize the all-important GC-SG balance of this DG; you know, the one you keep right below the big blow up picture of SG with red Xs all over it. Having made such a list, I'll make sure I spread my posts equally among the threads started by Gangulians and non-gangulians. Now of course, the problem becomes which one to reply to first; if by happenstance I pick one by CP I would become unfair and a hypocrite and I would not want that. I'll hence to try to balance it by using my first rant for the anti-Ganguly thread and granting the anti-GC thread the privilege of my 50th such rant. Furthermore I'll make sure I have the exact same number of characters in each post just so I'm not accused of speaking out more for one camp than the other. Long live the revolution.

And then we beat our chests and lament that posters are ruining the "DG experience" .....

Grreat post! :icon_thumleft:
But I am afraid, we must learn to live with this cheap double-standard! :)
