Zaheer and Agarkar's absence is reason for good Indian show
« on: March 07, 2008, 10:30:59 AM »
Zaheer and Agarkar are absolutely pathetic. As soon as Zaheer left from Melbourne, Indian team performance improved significantly an they dominated Aussies.

Trio of RP Singh, Ishant and Sreesanth are brilliant and should be given long runs. Indian cricket suffered long in hands of Zaheer and Agarkar and they should never even be considered again.

I would keep Zaheer out of the ODIs. He seems to struggle in that format in his new avtaar. He should still be the No. 1 choice in tests .. although it is clear that he is not fit for the SA tests.

Sachin Tendulkar gave the muhurat clap for 'Awwal Number' - that apart, he hasn't done much wrong in the last 20 yrs!

I have never massively rated Zaheer Khan, but he was sublime in England. It seems that he is poor on flat pitches though, shown by his average of 40.09 in Tests in India since he is not quick and cannot can natural shape from the hand. I would always look to him in conditions like England or New Zealand in Test matches though, but it would seem that such a country based (or even form of the game based, to an extent) selection process is still ahead of its time.

Hmm .I will keep him for ODi's He brings the little bit with bat as well. I think he has been bowling good before injury.
Actually this brings a very interesting point, The team selection with the bigger pool available .
I think another team selection poll is on way
