Please submit Questions for USA Cricket Association Candidates!!
« on: February 26, 2008, 03:43:25 PM »
Hey Guys,
One of my friends, John Thickett, Harvard MBA, is running for treasurer of the United States Cricket Association. He has kindly agreed to answer our questions over e-mail. He will also get the Presidential nominee, Ram Varadarajan, to answer any questions.

Here's their campaign site:
http://www.newinning.com/

Here's an article about them:
http://www.dreamcricket.com/dreamcricket/news.hspl?nid=8617&ntid=4

Please take a few minutes to read over the site and come up with some questions...this is a unique opportunity for us!

My questions are very simple
1.How are you going to convince ICC of your eligibilty as an organization capable to handle spread of the sport in USA
2.What are the concrete steps you are going to take in next 1 year to get more cricket in USA..maybe in form of T-T ...if not ODI

We already have T20 tournaments in our league (Which is affiliated to the USCA). The main tournament is a 30 (or 40 ) over affair and they have a 20 20 invitational night tournament in there too.

What do you plan to do to make cricket well known? (a school program similar to soccer)

 Suggestions(shortterm):
                        1) use the stanford guy to organize t-t tournaments between international teams in different cities
                        2) organize exhibition matches between the home baseball team and the indian cricket team/world team - best bet to get the crowd interested
