The Aussie spectators have most likely seen the last of RD, SG, VVS, AK.

This Test just reinforces some points that we already knew.
1. Can not go in with makeshift opening combinations in Tests.
Disagree
Quote
2. 2 Spinners are no use anywhere in Australia except Sydney.

3. AK and HS are not very effective on batting tracks as we saw in India against Pak also.
4. HS should now limit himself only to ODI's.
I think it is fine to say that he does not merit a place in the 11 on his performance.

Seriously, this is what our heroes (RD, SG, SRT, VVS, AK) deserve when they leave. Hope the BCCI learns something here

Agree, but players on their part must learn to leave and not wait till they are pushed out.
Of course.. I was hoping at least RD would announce before others told him it was time.

HS should be an automatic pick only for the T20s .. not for tests or ODIs.

Even there.. VS and Yusuf Pathan can do the job

that is a bit debateable .. I think HS has got his control over lengths and change of pace right .. he was very good in all matches of the T20 WC, bar the final ... even in the semis against Australia, he was able to rein things in when others (incl Sehwag) were being taken to the cleaners .. his doosra, esp, is a great weapon to have when batsmen are trying to get after you.

Hmm! Ok I suppose but VS would have been my choice because of his bowling also.

No question about this one. Thoroughly deserved.

Well done, Lee.

He is clearly the best pace bowler in the world as on date.

I agree.. but I think he "earns" some of his wickets with his theatrical appeals.

So be it. Appealing is a part of the game and if he has got it right, all the best to him.

154 in 45 overs is not at all safe

158 in 43 is safe IMO. No way Wussies can score at 3.67+ in this pitch.
whats wrong with the pitch? No one has gotten out to the pitch yet.

Giving aussies less than 250 to score would be stupid. You dont want to lose ... and getting them out in 40 odd overs is impossible ... almost

Australia scored less 3.5 an over on Day3 and Day4. IMO, it is highly defenisve thinking to expect them to score at 3.5+ an over an win a match on the last session of Day5.

I agree in principle, but to play devils advocate, is it true that the decision making has been biased in his favor because he plays for Australia?

Like Gavaskar said, he got more decisions in his favor when he played for Mumbai.

Agreed. I think it was almost certain that SRT will be MoM after his 153 unless someone scored 200+ or grabbed a 10-fer.

Viru would have been my choice.

I dont think you can extrapolate .. on day 3 and 4, they were trying to just bat India out of the game .. and that strategy almost worked. ... had Gilly and Symo played a bit longer, India may have been facing a bigger lead and playing for survival. As such, that late burst of Ishant and Irfan turned out to be very very critical.

Here, they would be in a no lose situation .. go after the bowling and shut shop if they lose a few wickets upfront.

Anyways, I will put it as Wussies were scared of not winning the series - so gave a featherbed at Adelaide  :P

But, seriously, I think we missed the reverse swing of RPS quite a bit in this test. We could have really tested the Aussies with a fit RPS. Bad luck....

I think the injury to RP Singh was key to the outcome from India's point of view as was the toothless, unimginative bowling of Harbhajan

Agreed on the latter.

Adelaide was Adelaide. India just did not play in line with the usual third innings trend.
