Pup that wouldn't go walkies wants to clear the air

AFTER farewelling his glamorous girlfriend Lara Bingle at Sydney Airport yesterday, Test batsman Michael Clarke flew to Perth for the resumption of hostilities between Australia and India.

The blonde model, wearing a dark baseball cap, dropped her boyfriend off at the Qantas terminal at Mascot where he boarded a flight to Western Australia without the rest of his teammates.

"I don't know if Lara is going to be able to make it over to watch the Test," Clarke said. "I think she has a few jobs on in Sydney."

Clarke, known as "Pup" to his teammates, was the hero of the second Test against India in Sydney, which was marred by allegations of racist sledging and a threatened boycott of the rest of the series by the Indians.

While he was seen by some as the matchwinner, taking the final three wickets to clinch the game, critics questioned his seemingly unsportsmanlike demeanour on the field.

"I have tried to get [Indian captain Anil] Kumble's mobile phone number so I can call him and smooth things over," Clarke, 26, said.

"The only reason I didn't walk when I was given out is because I was in shock, in disbelief, that my innings had ended so quickly."

This is in complete variance to his stand that Aussies ne'er walk and wait for umpires to declare them out...

The pressure is on the Aussies to come clean on a lot of stuff...

Perth will not be interesting !!!!!!!!!!!!!
