Brad Hogg has been officially charged with Level-3 Offense for use of offensive language against Kumble and Dhoni.

The hearing will be on January 14 in Perth by Mike Procter. The difference between Hogg's case and Bhajji's case are
(1) bhajji charged with racial abuse, while Hogg charged with use of abusive language.
(2) There was no audio/video evidence for Bhajji's charge, whereas there is clear audio and video evidence of Hogg's use of offensive langauge.

Indians have said that if the tour continues they plan to report every little offense by the Aussie players to the umps and match referees.

This is good. However, Hogg will be given a lighter sentence (possibly no punishment) because it is a first offence. So the key is to report him again with 5 Indian players swearing that they heard him. Let's put the darn referee on the spot.

Well I hadn't expected that they would charge him under Level 3, though I had said yesterday that technically "bastard" is offending descent and should come under Level 3. Good! Everyone should remember that the Code of Conduct makes no distinction between offending descent and offending race.

If indeed there was a/v evidence of Hogg using the word, there is little chance he can escape a ban, even after an appeal. If Bhajji's appeal is upheld (which it should, as the Appeals Officer is independent of ICC), then the Aussies could come out as the real losers out of this.

However India's fight should not stop till Mike Procter is humiliated and forced to quit.

 ................this is like asking a Punjabi to control his day-to day gaalis. But seriously, even the word 'bastard' has to do with someone's parentage ( just as 'monkey' is, if Symmo is to be believed). If they are banned, both must be banned.
