Madras beats Calcutta in ICL semi
« on: December 14, 2007, 05:02:00 PM »
An amazing 50 from Satish took the Superstars to the final of the $1M ICL championship. After the madrasis were in deep trouble with 6 down, Satish showed an amazing array of shots scoring his 50 in only 22 balls and taking them to a very good 167 in 20 overs.

The Tigers never really were in the game.

The hilite oof the game was some amazing fielding from both sides. The commitment shown in the field was better than most I have seen at the international level. The fielders were diving for everything.

A very good game of cricket.

Now we look forward to a rematch of the first ICL game tomorrow and hope the Jets would meet the superstars and put them in their place.

Well the crowd looks ok to me. But they are using the same tricks the ICC used in the WC. Cameras are probably only instructed to pan the areas with crowds in there.

The noise seems to be high. The dancing girls are sexy. Debojit (Saregama fame) sang during the half time (it was Vishal shekhar on Wed).

I really think that this has been a success. Even if they come close to breaking even in terms of sale, they can do much much better next year.

Chennai always looked to be the best team. Is it a coincidence that it is being coached and captained by an Aussie ?

No it is indeed because of the aussies ... Harvey for example and Bevan the coach.

maybe ... so please explain.

I was saying that they have won primarily due to the exceptional batting/bowling of Ian Harvey and Bevan's coaching. Ofcourse today Sathish's hitting was great.

How do you spell Madras? I refuse to start it with a C.

Similarly I wont call Bombay with an M and neither would i add a luru to Bangalore.

Tony Greig is sure getting old. There were two shot yesterday (Satish I think) that was clearly visible to all as drives kept on the ground but Greig went all ballistic about the ball being in the air and not sure if it was a six or a catch. :-[ :-[

Tony Grieg once joked with Boycott on similar visibility issue....commenting " your specs, Geoffery............" that wqas rather hilarious and Boycott enjoyed it too. :D
