In the 2001 series, the Aussie innings lost more than 7 wickets after Tea on 4 occasions.............which prompted Shastri to counter IC, that this Aussie team is not the greatest ever.

Misbah should be Man of the series .. but SG will get it.
kis khushi main? if he gets it, he should share it with the umpires.

nah ... misbah hardly got too many favours ... i think he has always been batting under a lot of pressure and has delivered big time for pakistan .. almost single handedly stood between india and a much more comprehensive victory.

but this dismissal will count against him, i think. had he stayed on till the end and helped hold out while the others collapsed in this innings, he had a good shout.

nothing to take away from SG's efforts ... just that this guy has really stood up in extremely high pressure situations
sometimes i feel you're disagreeing with me for the hell of it!

lol ... no... it is too much trouble to type so much just for the heck of it ...

was misbah let off many times? at least i dont remember ... anyway, i dont think he will get it .. but, i think he deserves it .. he deserved to be MoM in the 2nd test too in my view.

Anybody but Ganguly! :D...........even a Pakistani will do!
SG not only has more runs than Misbah but a few wickets too.

No ... SG wont be undeserving .. but I dont think the gap was that high really ...as I said, it is not just over SG .. i would have wanted him to get the MoM over Jaffer in the previous match too.

You can say...Misbah did very well........but he will remain no.2 behind SG for sure..........why I would think, even Yuvi is ahead of Misbah in the race for MOM.................batted under pressure, changed the color of the match, picked up a couple of important wickets.........just as SG did.

was not talking about MoM at all... that is SG without a doubt .. was talking about MoS.

amarnath's gem for the day: "i dont think light will improve unless there is a sunlight"

amarnath is an ass .. kumble did exactly as amarnath wanted him to do. and his reasoning was "i dont think you can win in 60-65 overs either ...so, why allow pakistan to bat"

i am glad this guy was not our coach ever.

RD gave his bowlers 110 overs and was hauled over coals, what is in store for Kumble?

To be fair, Kumble couldn't possibly imagine that the Pakistani innings will fold like this. In the morning, the pitch was behaving wonky.....but it wasn't helping the spinners. Not sure....but Kumble and the rest of India will rue this decision.

there is no issue of fair or unfair. what is the need to set a target of 378 in 48 overs?

Oh boy .. in between all this, Rajasthan lose to Mumbai by 2 runs!!!

What a valiant chase .. ended up on 381 chasing 384 ... they could easily have played out a draw .. needed 86 runs in 12 overs or something and 42 in 6 with 5 wickets in hand .. but went for the target .. lost 3 wickets in the last over in their attempt to get to the target and lost!!

C'mon Blwe you can do better than this. ;D
Instead of giving 48 overs it would have been better to bat on till tea or were bowled out.

Misbah has done well but in almost every innings he has had at least one umpiring decision in his favor. I cant see how he gets it

I dont think umpiring decisions should really come into it at all .. those are fine for discussions on whether they would have changed a match or otherwise ... but, in the end, when one looks at the overall picture, let what the players did stand by itself. They cant be blamed for umpires failing to give them out / giving someone out wrongly (for bowlers).

But, it is a close race ... SG has scored more than Misbah and taken wickets as well .. but Misbah has batted under much more pressure and with far less support from others in the team ... he was also unbeaten at least a couple of times. As I said, had he held on till the end today, his case would have been further strengthened.

Anyway, these are all academic issues ... to me, MoM and MoS awards are really irrelevant ... too many factors go into a team's success .. as well as into the award winner's success.

Both will go to SG, most likely and rightly so. Even SG batted under a lot of pressure, rescuing the team from 61 for 4. For Pakistan, Misbah was not the lone ranger. Younis Khan batted well in this match.
As I said, even Yuvi is ahead of Misbah, so far as this match is concerned.

whatever. i guess they were desperate for an outright win. it is refreshing. not many teams in india or representing india have the guts to go after 380

This decision may become a blot on Kumble's captaincy CV................I have a sneaky feeling...SG handled these tricky declarations better. :(

can anyone type what Ganguly said at the prize distribution please ?

The IDIOTS AT ZEE CUT AWAY TO THEIR STUDIO TO DISCUSS THEIR PANELIST VIEWS WHEN RAMEEZ WAS ASKING QUESTIONS

Cricbuzz : He says that it has been a good year for most of the team and he hopes that it carries on so. On whether he has made any adjustment to his batting he says not much of a technical adjustment but he has been very focussed off late. On missing out on the record of a double century and century in the same test, he does regret it a bit as it would have been a great achievement although he is delighted about the way he batted especially in the second innings when it was very tough to bat. He is keen to carry his form to the all important tour to Australia.

Anil Kumble says that it feels great and more so as it has come at the homeground. He says that he had never expected that the captaincy would come to him at 37 but he surely expected the winning result after 27 years to come. On bowling seam up stuff he says that he had given up on seam bowling 25 years ago but he realized that on this track that was a better option. He applauds the efforts of Ganguly in this series and also the efforts of the entire team. He also praises the efforts of Misbah and says that perhaps he was the main reason why India couldn't pull off a clean sweep in this series. He says that he is looking forward to the Australian series now and is keen to do well.

Just frustrated with these ass***** in Zee. Last series, they did not even show the presentation ceremonies and this time Padam, their moron of a sports jockey with a plastic smile plastered all across his face cuts in just when the prize distributions for MOM and MOS starts -- as if we care what he has to say, moron!!
