Or maybe they report what they see. When he sucks they say it ... ofcourse you dont like it then!

How was his shot today? Needed?

probably i missed the same question you posed  on his shots yesterday ....or you want to know about his single  shot today ? or  please point me to the thread where you have discussed his shots yesterday !
anyway let me answer this - the shot sucked !

now you can go ahead and shout about this shot today and open 100 threads on how he doesnt deserve to be in the team...but according to Pandit Maharaj he will be in the team in his own merit...and cause some more itches and burns to Chappelites  ;D

I was away over the long weekend and only managed to catch the last days play. So there!

By the way, SG said that he has been playing well in BOTH forms of the game. We do know that he sucks in ODI's so what is this other form of the game? Wonder if he has taken on French cricket?

Ah you were on vacation CP! I was wondering why the IQ level of the DG had gone up all of a sudden! Anyway as far as Ganguly is concerned, you know, the cover drive, the square drive...we will get to see again. Team India won, but so what! Maybe SG will score a hundred next match and Team India will draw. But we will still be happy.

Ah...CLR...thanks for reminding

That particular drive went at a scorching speed thru' a particular fielding position ...it was amazing , wasn't it  ;D ;D ;D

Pankaj:
On acknowledging good balls...

check out 66.3.. not acknowledged by anyone ..but it setup the next ball loose shot from Akmal. I was watching the recording of the match and this one stood out..

--
66.3     Khan to Kamran Akmal, no run, beauty from Zaheer, he pitched it on a good length on middle stump and seamed just enough past Akmal, he began to play at it but pulled his bat out of the way in the end , well played

66.4    Khan to Kamran Akmal, OUT, caught, Akmal chases a ball that pitches outside off stump and angles away from him, he wanted to drive through cover off the front foot but played a long way away from his body, the outside edge flew straight to Yuvraj at point who takes a comfortable catch at head height, that's a massive breakthrough for India in the first over
   Kamran Akmal c sub (Yuvraj Singh) b Khan 21 (63m 56b 3x4 0x6) SR: 37.50
--

BTW, Shoaib Malik is an idiot.. why did he bowl Sami for 15 overs in the 2nd innings ..when he was so ineffective.

how about this would-have-been-a-peach-but-for-the-umpire ball? that was as out as out can be - would have made the match MOST interesting!

12.2 Mohammad Sami to Dravid, no run, massive massive appeal for lbw, a full ball swings into Dravid who moves across his stumps and tries to drive, he gets hit low on the front pad, it was hitting middle and leg stump, that's plumb but Doctrove says not out, Dravid is lucky to still be there

So Billy's Doctrine seems to be to 'consistently give wrong decisions'.

In the last Aus in SA series, The 2 Blind Men (Billy and Bucknor) were MoS. Both handed out some horrible decisions in favor of Aus - don't remember if they were all LBWs.

didnt see that

he also gave tanvir out in the Pak 1st innings!!!

which was out I thought.

My question was based on the numerous that he turned down in this test --I have not watched Doctrove too much or more likely dont remember off hand.

clearly high

i thought it pitched marginally outside leg stump ...

anyway, was definitely not out by Doctrove standards if he normally does not give lbws.

I know umpiring ia a difficult job, but if this is the standard in the 'Elite' panel one shudders at what to expect in the rank and file.

problem is that ICC is not making umpiring a lucrative enough job. So, most shy away from it considering the amount of traveling required.
