what a crappy decision by Rudi .. and, to add insult to injury, Sanga will be fined for dissent!!

But, what a display by the Aussies ... give them one wicket and they blast out a few more in quick succession ... never letting their guard down!

..and they won the match with effectively one bowler! (there lies the recipe for our success down under)

Even after this splendid rearguard action (Sangakkara always rocked), I still think SL are an overrated team. They were vaporized by Australia in the first test and let us not forget that Australia lost just 7 wickets in this test. Hobart is a patta wicket.

They have 2 high quality batsmen in Sangakara and Jayawardene, 2 who are still pretty good despite being past their prime - Jayasuriya and Atapatu, 3 decent seamers and 1 world class spinner. Also their keeper is pretty good.

The weak point is the other 2 spots - Vandort and Silva.

Vandort in particular is I believe the Sri Lankan equivalent of Gambhir.

RUBBISH decision by Rudi !!!!!!!!! - All the more reason for a NFL-like appeals system - Yuvi, 2 days back, and now Sanga - arguably ruined 2 great nail-biters.....

But great fightback by Lankans !!!

As I said - umpires are spoilsports. Does it mean however that I support getting rid of umpires altogether ? No. I think the umpiring should be of a higher quality tho.

I don't think so. Rudi actually came over and apologized to Sangakarra after the match. Fat lot of good that did though.

No. this does not mean that SL is overrated. It means that gap between Aussies and others in test cricket is HUGGGGGEEEEE !!!

Aussies are @ 141 pts
Eng, SA, Ind, SL are @ 111, 109, 107, 107

30 pt difference is HUGE !!!!

Rudi should be charged for dissent. Can an umpire disagree with his own decision after he has given it? It contravenes the ICC guidelines. Shameful fellow this Rudi.

He should have assumed moral responsibility and awarded the test to SL  ;D ;D

The inability of touring sides to have their batsmen click together is the reason so many games are lost. If this Sangakara effort had come in the first innings, then coupled with the Jayawardene 100 would have probably saved the game. Fine knock though. Remember Sehwag at the MCG? Did not help India.

That is mainly because of the ridiculously low amount of warmup games one gets on tour these days and ridiculously high volume of meaningless 50 over games being played.  [god]
