YoMa(mma) is faster than both so can be effective even with slightly older ball.

that is a dirty comment. please take it back.

BTW, why did Jogi and Bose open the bowling and not Yohamesh  ??? ??? ???

Joginder is an international player for India ... how can Yoma compete with him?

BTW, why did Jogi and Bose open the bowling and not Yohamesh  ??? ??? ???

prolly because both of them can swing the ball. And YoMa is faster than both so can be effective even with slightly older ball.

He's not bowling any faster than Bose at the moment.

Well in the U19 game i saw him in couple of years back he was bowling in late 130s. So either the speed guns are faulty or he has slowed down already.

Assuming the speed guns aren't faulty, we'd probably be better off opening the bowling with Ganguly than with these guys.

Cricinfo are saying that Bose is bowling at approx. 125kph. That is not good enough for international level, I was defending Kumar earlier because Kumar can bat and is not necessarily a front line seamer whilst Bose is and apparently has been 'cutting back on pace', they need to get that mentality away from him. Front line seamers should be trying to bowl close to their fastest every spell, especially if one of their weapons is bounce.

India Blue's bowling attack (besides Powar), seems quite weak. I fully expect India Green (my pick to win) to roll both teams over with their bowling attack.

I dont think Red can win from here. Their tail isnt strong and they have already run out of their front line batsmen. Lets see how Badri does here.

Surprisingly Badri's list A average (39) isn't all that high (by domestic standards).

It may not be in top 10 but still is quite good. Remember most guys with high averages have player 10-15 games while Badri has played lot many.

That would mean Badri has lot easier conditions to deal with. Red may win it as blue dont have many overs left from pacers.

Badrinath is really one for the future in both forms of the game based on what he has done recently. 35 off 37 balls now.

So, are Yo Mahesh, Bose and Joginder all under 130kph?

Under 125 more like; though I just saw the first couple of overs from YoMo.

Don't want to jinx him, but he looks so calm out there. Seems to know exactly what is required to win the game.

Yes. Quite disappointed with YoM. Was expecting a lot more.

Looks like the Reds are going to fall that bit short but I have to say that it was a good effort. Coming out good have been Raina, Kaif, Badrinath, Rawat, Joginder and Kumar.

I'll do my points system a bit later.

This proves again that we have Good batsmen to replace Maharathi. Decent WK batsman to serve us well in next 10 odd years. Decent enough spinners of all types. BUT NOT too many pace bowlers who can bowl closer to 140.  IP beats Jogi and Kumar hands down in bowling fielding and batting.

Is Jogi the new "death bowler"..  no pace, no swing, no seam ..but somehow delivers when there are more than 10 runs to be had in the last over ;D ;D

There are few tricks he uses though. One being bowling full well outside off. Which is difficult to hit specially when you are backing away on the leg.

AM Rahane – 0 points
V Sehwag – 5 points
SA Asnodkar – 9 points
KD Karthik – 0 points
SK Raina – 97 points
NK Patel – 25 points
Iceman – 97 points
A Mishra – 46 points
RR Powar – 26 points
VY Mahesh – Negative 10 points
RR Bose – 10 points

Total = 285

RS Ricky – 0 points
G Gambhir – 0 points
M Kaif – 37 points
V Kohli – 10 points
S Badrinath – 33 points
M Rawat – 42 points
P Kumar – 107 points
SS Mundhe – 10 points
SK Trivedi – 30 points
PP Ojha – 10 points
I Sharma – 10 points

Total = 289

So…India Red should have won by a few runs. I guess the system can’t predict results but the problem is due to the freak system that none of India Red’s bowlers who bowled over 2 overs went for over six an over.

I have now ignored the last five over points for bowlers, it just doesn’t make sense. Wickets and runs even themselves out...don't they.

So, according to the system: Raina, Iceman and Kumar were the stars.

Blues made the difference in the field. Sehwag running out Gambhir was a big one and Kaif's catch was huge too.

I think your points for Mishra are wrong. He should have gotten as many as Jogi. He scored 29 at 94 strike rate and took 2/40 in the middle overs with a soggy ball.

Also low full toss with no pace on it is not a bad ball not too many can hit it out of ground.

Wasn't this Praveen Kumar with the Ranji winning UP team? If so, must say, I am hoping against all odds that Kaif finds form .. he did something to the players in that team .. RPS, Chawla, Raina and now this guy.

yeah that was his first season. Last season they all collectively lost form and some how managed to keep the team in the elite group. And more than Kaif its the Sports Hostel/Complex Lucknow which has helped these guys grow. All of them product of that. I think Maya wanna bulid a Monument for Ambedkar/Kashiram in place of it and tried to demolish it few months back.

Yeah, Mishra did very well ... and he took two big wickets when the Reds looked like getting to the target.
