A Note for kban: hope you like how I am usurping your role [and even fineleg's]. I am devious, am I not?

Nice genes from both sides. Maira's sis is a tennis player too.

Gladd that you are contributing.  Might I add a very good job too !!

I know I cannot claim to be your inspiration -- your inspiration lies in fielding in the deep, a little left of square leg, looking from the bowlers end  ;)

but

Can I claim credit for motivating you ? Oh wait, you're a professional, professionals do not need to be motivated !! ;D

Ah well, i suppose I shall take solace in knowing I have less to do

Hope you don't have to explain this to a certain 'someone' in 'prosaic' language...

No, jai:

that is one of the most inane statements (from a pysch and management perspective) that a well educated well read guy like RD could make. I suppose it may have been an unnamed barb at someone, but my comment up there expresses my sarcasm and my disagreement with that line of thinking.

And yes, I shall get a lot of flames for this, but I am willing to defend my point --have seen, read, and observed enough org behavior to know that while the statement reads well in print as a message of a brave and professional new team india, it is but bunkum based on ground facts and human pysche.

PS: Oh and I do like RD -really, I do (just calling a spade by its proper name, no hidden agendas)

Yeah, these mgmt type oneliners really get on your nerves sometimes. I really wonder how they survive, if not by preserving priviledge for the select few.

But then again, this whole world is run on bs.

In many ways the flaw in the modern management practice, not theory as the former selectively delves into the latter to choose portions that suit them without considering the entire body of work.

Practices based  on selective choosing and splicing is a disservice to the theory and of course the individuals who are subjected to such practices. But as long as it benefits the imposers agenda, these phrases are bandied about and emphasized, often to codify and preserve a structural power based hierarchy.

Kban, I have no idea about mgmt theory, so I will accept the verdict of the expert. But I agree completely with the implementation/practice part.
