                     Heart Stopping Show Stopper
Lightning is one of nature’s greatest visual treats. It evokes different emotions in different people, from a sense of wonderment to fear. However there is one thing that is supposed to be unique about it according to folklore. It never strikes twice at the same place let alone a person that is unless you happen to answer to the name of Misbah-ul- Haq.
Having already frozen once before in the previous encounter with India with victory just a stroke away, he proceeded to do just that in this one, by playing a stroke that will have purists of the game tearing their hair in despair. All this from a man who seems to have an incredible ability to find the ropes with authentic cricket shots in front of the wicket in pressure cooker situations. He comes across a marathoner who runs the full race but has to be carried over the finish line by someone else if he has to complete it. Ravi Shastri during his stint at the mike commented that Misbah had his mind working like a computer, unfortunately for him it ended with the infamous BSOD.
Sreesanth ensured that the cup did not slip between his fingers in the homeland of Herschelle Gibbs.
Dhoni displayed his indomitable spirit and flair to dare, when he drafted in Yusuf Pathan to replace the injured Sehwag in this most crucial of matches. With his almost Haydenisque like stature he fired the opening salvos in this battle with a six of Asif as his first scoring shot in international cricket. This lack of fear in the entire Indian side is proving to be the difference between victory and defeat. In case you want to know what fear is, kindly replay the dismissals of the Pakistan skipper and Afridi to get a fair idea of what it can do.
Gambhir still considered by many as lucky to hold his place in the side was unlucky not to get the man of the match award in this amazing final.
Having done all the hard work in previous games to get India this far, Yuvraj and Dhoni did not stay long enough to put the match beyond Pakistan, but fortunately there were others ready to put their shoulder to the till to ensure a happy ending.
