agarkar has talent but no brains, joginder may or may not have brains but he has no talent.

he has loads of guts and temperament... showed that in the eng match when he clenched his fists after taking a catch in the deep even after having been taken to the cleaners while bowling... and in the bouncer to albie morkel that dislodged his helmet after being hit for a 6 the previous ball.

I saw that and took it to be aimed at RPS who had failed to take one of Solanki off JS. ;D

well, i dont know whether clenching fists should be taken as an indication of guts and temparament .. the bouncer was a pleasant surprise, agreed.

but, i just dont see the ability to cut it at this level ... and, it was very evident that he was feeling the pressure big time when the English batsmen targeted him .. really appeared clueless out there.

I am ready to give him some time... maybe not tomorrow, when i prefer to utilize sehwag as a surprise bowler and get yuvi in... after all, he is still new to intl cricket. he needs to develop slowers and change of length.

No more clueless than Broad who is a much better bowler than JS.

Of course, now that he is in, he should get a fair run. I am just not too optimistic, that's all.

Agreed ... anyone could get hit or look unimpressive on a given day. Jogi, unfortunately, has looked unimpressive on all days I have seen him play.

If one heard Dhoni in the Eng post match talk , he actually said "It is a do and die match"

Thankfully India did and SA died

Like the SRK-John Abraham Pepsi Ad,

Dhoni (pointing to himself) "DO" AND (pointing to Greame Smith) "DIE"

He is supposed to be an allrounder.. So the point is: How is his batting and fielding like?  If it is better than the duck then maybe he has a place in this format..

If not, bring back the duck who is the best thrower from the deep.. he is well known for one performance that will keep him for the next n matches.

I "believe" his batting is MUCH better than his bowling - which is not saying much, really.

He has better batting stats than Aggie in domestic but hasnt done much in recent times. The only game he batted in BD he did well there. And also he is considered as one of the most fit cricketer in India so his fielding should be decent too.
