I thought Zimbabwe missed a trick in not trying to minimize the extent of loss to England rather than trying for a win even after they lost a couple of wickets quickly. That would have put even greater pressure on the Aussies in their game against England.

Rather, it would have put more pressure on England and enhanced Zim's chances to qualify. Zim's NRR would have gone below Australia's even if they had lost by 10 runs.... So, Aus would have just need to win anyways. Only hope for Zim now is for ENg to beat Aus....

Zim needed to have scored 182 yesterday and lost by only 6 runs to have been above Australia.

Now, today, if Australia beat England by 98 runs, Eng are out and Zim are through  8)

Australia have to win. Zim could have improved its chances, had it come closer to England's total. They may have been able to cut off around 10-15 runs from the margin of defeat, had they played a bit more cautiously, I guess.

It wouldnt have mattered. They beat australia in a very close game. the only way they can qualify is if australia beat england by a massive margin.

I agree. I think in 20-20, high margin victories cannot be ruled out .. especially if Australia is chasing.
