MP is slowly but surely getting into his groove...too early to trash him....a bad call I would say...
Let the real games begin and we will all see the difference between the AA's of the world and the MPs of the world .......

Irrespective ... unless MP can prove that he is a bowler capable of taking 3-4 wickets each time he bowls .. i.e. bowl those "running through the line up spells" he should not be allowed anywhere near an ODI / 20-20 match. The guy is bound to make shoulders of other bowlers droop with his comical efforts to kick balls in from the boundary line and flick the ball underhanded to the keeper from the boundary after taking a run up that is almost as long as his bowling run up. He will be a disaster, especially on long grounds and against sides such as Aus and NZ, who will just run one extra run for everytime the ball goes to him.

Are we discussing Monty Panesar here  :D :D

Forget 3-4 wickets. At least 1 wicket at the start if he is going to go at over 7 an over.

One match...7 an over...and you post as if his career record is at 7 an over ....

I have nothing to say beyond this.....

What about my question earlier ? You have chosen to sidestep it ???

Anyway I am not one to judge Munaf on one match. The fact of the matter is I am angry with him because of the way he has changed his bowling over the past one year. He was brought in in 2006 after we came back from pakistan becoz we realized that we needed someone like shoaib akhtar to bowl deadly yorkers and wicket-taking spells. we know we dont have anyone like that. yet munaf is the closest we had. so we took him - he started off really well. but instead of building upon it and improving - HE HAS TRANSFORMED HIMSELF into a line and length bowler - now i am not against line and length bowlers - the great mcgrath was one !! but the fact is it is counter to what the team's plans were for him. we could have searched for line and length bowlers - we might find some ... indeed we have a good mix of swing and length bowlers now in zak, sreesanth and rps - what we were missing and what we wanted was an out and out fast bowler. munaf chose to work counter to the teams requirements. he himself might want to bowl medium pace. the team wants him to bowl fast. hence my anguish.

Monty bats better than Munaf. Infact, any other player appears more comfortable playing French cricket than Munaf looks playing normal cricket.

I dont think Monty is as much of a disaster on the field either.

Sachin Tendulkar gave the muhurat clap for 'Awwal Number' - that apart, he hasn't done much wrong in the last 20 yrs!

Reword that to ignore rather than sidestep ..... eh ...what now ??
