The guys in the gym recommended adding fast-digesting whey powder to the post-workout drink. Seems like it accelerates the post-workout muscle "repair" process..

Be careful. Some of the whey proteins can cause dependencies. If you stop taking them you will lose all the muscles they helped you put on!

ah, i read a book on "abs diet" and another book assured to give one a "hollywood bod" (ROFL!) and came across it. the book also has a lot of power smoothie recipes. i promptly went and bought a can of protein powder coz i do a lot of these "strengthening exercises" but haven't used it yet.

i must say that, after seeing sania's biceps, i am rather overcome by trepidation  ;D

Really. How come? because arent you essentially building muscle fiber by strength training...and dont you lose muscles if you dont use them?

Anyway, I am not "body-building"..just making sure I maintain enough active muscle mass (which I am told by doctors acts as "natural insulin") to manage diabetes.

No kidding ;D

I think Kban's explanation makes sense though. That position of the arms during that action - like the half-way point of a hammer curl with dumb-bells - exaggerates (or fully displays) the biceps.

honestly, i don't think it is her image - i have seen her in person(heh, PP ishtyle name-dropping) about a year ago and there is no way she could have built muscle mass like that in a year unless she was on some steroids or smthing!

It is, LN, but not in the way it was originally intended by those who clamored for it.
