Well, though Sreesanth and Dhoni are the colourful boys of Team India, I sincerely hope that n the third Test Dhoni will be replaced by Yuvraj (KKD is good enough as a keeper) and Sreesanth by RD Bose just to give a chance to these guys who are warming the bench.

Vincent,

I was hoping Bose will get a look in during this trip. He is best suited for English conditions, and once Munaf gets fit,
it'll be harder for him to get in. I think having an indifferent performance in the warm-up has cost him.

Am very pleased with the way Karthik has acquited himself repeatedly since South Africa. The boy has a good
head on his shoulders. Dhoni sitting out for Yuvraj cannot be too bad a call.

I suppose you missed the first test Dhoni saved?

Please! Dhoni did his part. Didnt save it all by himself or anythign. Besides, if SS had been (Correctly) given out, you wont even be making that statement. So not like he held on till the end or anything. Good inns, but nothing to make a case for him.

Reminder: Dhoni saved the test. (um, yeah, that's what you call a batsman batting in the 4th inning not out at 70 odd runs)

He played his part no doubt. But he didnt make sure that we saved the test. So no, he didnt.

Actually it was the rain that saved the first test. It was not like Fidel Edwards in West Indies who stubbornly resisted Indian attack for an hour or so to save the 10th wicket and the test. Of course rain played a role there too in the initial stages of the match. But the gutsy performance of the last pair was what saved the match.

And how would you describe the 'ungutsy' performance of Dhoni without whom rain or no rain, the innings would have been wrapped up long ago? Or was his resistance not 'stubborn'? That India COULD have lost the match inspite of Dhoni's brilliance, hardly makes the effort any less worthwhile given that Dhoni cannot be blamed for others getting out.

Erm, I believe the idea here is to replace Dhoni with Yuvi for Game 3. That way Yuvi can atleast get 1 game. KKD can manage for 1 game, it isnt as if he is a makeshift keeper a la RD.

But why is it necessary to give YS at least one game? And, if he has to be given a game, let him fight it out with the other middle order bats.

KKD can probably manage. But then again, he may not ... especially if there is a large total on the board. The question is - do you want to find out in one of the most crucial test matches India will be playing in?

Fully Agree.

The only thing he could be faulted for is taking singles early on in the over after the 6th wicket fell ...but that does not take much away from the importance of the knock.

Gilchrist he may not be, but on that fifth day he did more than any other Indian batsman to keep the team afloat till weather intervened.

Enough of these single test match victories. I want a series win ::cheers::

I had predicted 3-0, We were denied a win because of rain in T1, we won T2. So, we are on course for a series win  :icon_thumleft: :icon_thumleft:

i said 2-0 and we are right on course- poms will be jellybeaned again!!!!

Erm, not to rain on anyone's parade but I could'nt help notice that only RD and SG have brand logos displayed on their bats and have made sure that pictures have caught them...dont know if it was done intentionally but if you look at the pic of SG walking back to the pavilion he is holding his bat like a lance and the "Indicom" logo is clearly seen....

But I think the Brittania is more visible than the Tata Indicom...we all end up seeing what we do not want to see :)
