So are you recommending , PP should be in as he is better WK then these two .
Or was his last century to play a role in the decision making .. All i know WK's nowadays are selected by their batting skills .

Ha ha. Who am I to recommend? I just posted my opinion.

Yes - In test matches - PP is better bet and MSD for ODI. KKD is just playing as batsman - not as wicket keeper.

Well If PP has to get in Test. I beleive MSD has to shift his focus on  20-20. DK till sometime has the fixed spot. PP must maintain his consistency and keep threatning the position. PP was given more then enough chances. He did not had the consistency to hold them.
For now PP should just wait for a lean patch from these guys.

Yes. If at all he can come back, will take some time.

I have followed few reports and discussions with few friends, who have
followed his keeping. He is a much improved wicket keeper.

So, you have not watched his present wicketkeeping. I was hoping you  could say something about his present level.
Quote
He was out of the test team only for his poor wicket keeping. KKD and MSD are not doing well as wicket keeper.
If you read Kirmani's statement - he says the same.

Yes, I did read his statement ... at least if you are talking about the one in this thread.
http://www.cricketvoice.com/cricketforum2/index.php?topic=12186.0
Unfortunately, after flaying these two for their lack of technique or natural skills, he does not name a current wicketkeeper who (in his opinion) has those skills. Now, I don't know why the journalist did not get his opinion on other wicketkeeping prospects, PP included ... it seems like such an obvious question. But, I won't be too surprised if he replied that there are no other wicket keepers today who are up to the standards he is expecting. In which case, even taking his
statement at face value would be irrelevant for this discussion.

Pathan, the nightwatchman, goes as Patel reaches his fifty. He really is a run machine on this tour.

They are  struggling right now...some 55/7 against SL A all  "Stalwarts" back in the hut with single digit scores
28 overs still to go with Irfan and Yomahesh at the crease

It is not looking good at all. Irfan Pathan needs to pull out a fifty or hundred to get India to a respectable score. I guess this is what happens when Indias ODI squad cripples the A team of Uthappa, Rohit Sharma and Chawla, all very good with the bat. I also wonder why someone like Sehwag is not on this tour either.

I guess this puts India A into perspective now.

Seems like a pitch where ball did lot of talking early on. I cant think of another reason why all of top batsmen will get single digit score. Also i think bowlers have gotten used to of pathetic sides they have played against on this tour. Lets see how this A team does agaist Lanka A which did quite well against INdia.

Lanka A wins the game. IKP scored 44 and 10/2/35/2/3.50. Looks like the only performer in this game, from India A.

India A should be playing more of such better sides like SL, Aus, NZ etc.

Waste of time scoring centuries against Zim and Kenya.

Absolutely! It would be worthwhile for people like Badrinath to repeat they performances against Kenya/Zim against better teams. We need to know how these people who have been knocking on the selection doors compare amongst themselves.
It will also do them a world of good in terms of confidence.

But why is Sehwag not playing? Are Tewari and Raina still injured, or are they in England?

Ojha picks up five as India ‘A’ posts win

New Delhi: Left-arm spinner Pragyan Ojha’s five-wicket haul helped India ‘A’ record a 44-run victory over Sri Lanka ‘A’ in a one-day match of the triangular cricket series at Nairobi on Sunday.

After India ‘A’ had been dismissed for 198 in 46.3 overs, the Sri Lankans were bundled out for 154 in 41.3 overs, thanks to Ojha’s exploits at the Gymkhana Club Ground.

Ojha returned figures of five for 21 off 7.3 overs, while Irfan Pathan captured two wickets. Gayan Wijekoon (46) emerged as the top-scorer for the Lankans.

Earlier, put in to bat, India ‘A’ did not impress much while negotiating the Sri Lankan seamers.

Left-arm pacer Sujeewa de Silva, who picked up four for 33, was the chief trouble-maker for the Indians. Arjun Yadav (50) showed some steely resolve to notch up a half-century. Yusuf Pathan (40) and captain Mohammed Kaif (38) were the other major contributors.

The scores: India ‘A’ 198 in 46.3 overs (A. Yadav 50, Y. Pathan 40, S. de Silva 4-33) bt Sri Lanka ‘A’ 154 all out 41.3 overs (G. Wijekoon 46). — PTI

Ojha's been almost as impressive as Chawla on this tour ... purely based on the numbers that we see here.

And, good to see IP getting some wickets.

Re: Tracking India A

India A called all the shots at Nairobi today, winning the toss, bowling out Sri Lanka A for 165 and then easing to a nine-wicket win to clinch the final of this three-nation tournament. There were big wickets from the pace bowlers and seamers and positive innings from Cheteshwar Pujara and Mohammad Kaif as India reached their target inside 26 overs.

Early morning rain meant the game got underway later than scheduled, and was consequently reduced to 39 overs a side, but the Indians wasted little time in getting stuck in. The last ball of the fifth over, from Irfan Pathan, swung away from Dilruwan Perera and the resultant nick was easily held by Parthiv Patel for the first of his six dismissals. Praveen Kumar continued his good series by beating Mahela Udawatte for pace, the batsman reacting late and losing his off stump for a brisk 35 from 27 deliveries.

Pankaj Singh dealt the third blow when he forced Kaushal Silva to fend at a rising delivery outside off stump and edge to Kaif at first slip to make it 52 for 3. Gayan Wijekoon (38 from 42 balls) and Malinda Warnapura added 52 before Yo Mahesh dismissed Warnapura, and from there Sri Lanka were unable to string together and sizeable partnerships. Mahesh added Wijekoon and Sujeewa de Silva to his kitty. Pathan came back to get Kaushal Lokuarachchi and left-arm spinner Pragyan Ojha finished with 2 for 33 from his eight overs.

India's chase began with Pujara slashing one over the slips and to the boundary and edging another from Chanaka Welegedara that did not carry to the fielder but Kumar was not as shaky, hitting consecutive fours off Nuwan Kulasekara back past the stumps and over mid-off. Another flick to fine leg followed but Welegedara forced Kumar (26) to scoop a slower one back to him just after the 50 was raised in the seventh over. Kumar finished as the tournament's leading run-scorer with a total of 165 runs.

Pujara edged through the slips a second time and had to work hard for his runs but Kaif opened up with two pulled fours and one drive back down the ground. In one de Silva over he twice drove through the covers and slogged one past mid-on, raising the 50-run stand with Pujara in just 8.2 overs.

A crowd of about 1000, mostly Indian, cheered loudly and made their players feel at home in the afternoon sunshine. Wijekoon erred in line slightly and Kaif pulled him for four; Pujara brought up his half-century, from 60 balls, with a drive for three down to long-on; Lokuarachchi tossed it up and Pujara hammered him over the infield. Kaif brought up his own fifty before hitting Lokuarachchi for a huge straight six. Pujara swept the same bowler for four take the partnership to a match-winning 115 runs.

At the post-match conference, Warnapura, the Sri Lankan captain, conceded that his side batted poorly. Kaif said the toss was important as it set the tone for his game plan, and singled out his bowlers as key to this victory. He also thanked the fans and acknowledged his players' commitment throughout the series in Zimbabwe as well as in Kenya

Pujara was awarded the Man of the Match and Kumar Man of the Series.
