Why are AA and ZK not playing in Deodhar Trophy?

Any ideas apart from them being lazy bums or any supposed injury? Or are they planning to reire? I think it is better they save us all of the missery ,retire once and for all and get on with enjoying the millions they have already earned

I really dont want either to retire, IF they can actually show the spirit to improve themselves.

senthil thanks for bringing it ot my notice. yes me too wishing for the same but am a little frustrated with their attitude. i think the only way AA is going to come back into the side is with strong performances with the bat as well as bowl. he has not had a lot of chances with the bat so i thought he wud use dom. ricket to make a case. but he seems to be happy as he is!!!

Irony is that these guys won't be reprimanded by board,though that's been happening lately with SG if he skips a domestic match ...

Achu, you got my message slightly wrong. I don't hope these guys get back !  ;D
I'm speaking on a broader, framework level - I would love them realising where they slipped up and doing all they can to fix their games. This is my general hope for all of Indian cricket. Including GG and anyone else young enough to think they have a potential career ahead of them. Beyond that, I am not hoping that either will soon 'prove' something in domestic and get back. No way, I think I've said umpteen times recently that the thing I love the most about this selection is the dropping of AA/Zak/GG/MK.

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that these guys can't put the same amount of pressure on the seletors to get back into the National side? And maybe these guys dropping/repicking wont generate the same furore....

Or maybe GC/More told them...  ;) "look mate...why dont you guys take it easy and once we are done with the trials of the young brigade you guys will be back in the frame of things..plus its summer and hot so just take a vacation/chill"...AA has a contract anyway and ZK makes up for it with his endorsements. ;D

Why are everyone taking it for granted that they will be selected to play for their respective zone - same one West Zone in this case. Maybe they were dropped  ;D ;D ;D

Are u trying to make More and co looks like total idiots? these guys are good to for a full series to Pak, then they are bad enuff to not merit zonal selection ....which they may well be  ;D ;D ;D

well the real story goes that Agarkar was busy placating Fatima bibi, who was furious at his omission from the Test squad. More furious than Agarkar himself. Agarkar was heard cajoling "Fatima darling, dont worry, as long as I am the fastest bowler in India, faster than that goat Zaheer and that Akram wannabe Pathan, I will always be in and around the team" to which Fatima shot back "if you dont get your ass in the gym pronto and start working on your bowling, I'll be gone faster than one of your 'quick' deliveries"

Zaheer meanwhile, was spotted gorging on some gujju thalis, one after another. The long trip to Pakistan had deprived him of his favorite foods, Khichdi, and Shreekand (ignore for the moment that he was repeatedly caught  by Greg Chappel, hogging on gosht and biryani dishes in his hotel room in Pakistan), and he felt a bit of catching up was in order. In between mouthfuls, he spluttered, "you know, selections in the Indian team will come and go, but Raviraj, the cook in my famous restaurant, will always have a bowl of Shreekand for me"
