Will keep it short since am on vacation and the beach beckons...

An excellent move IMO. I think this will do wonders in restoring the trust in the mod team. Knowing LN he is a very balanced person and a person with integrity.

In the past I had always had this same trust in KBan's moderation but lately I have seen a lot more anger in him. Nothing wrong with it (shows his human side I guess). Having LN on the board will be a great move as he can provide the much needed balance and more importantly bring the trust back in the moderation team.

Overall its the trust factor that allows people to accept some hard decisions.

Kudos to Kban and others for taking this step  and double kudos to LN for accepting. He truly has done this for the betterment of the DG.

Luckily, despite your claims of "half the DG" ready to walk out, most people on the DG are quite familiar with the shennanigan orchestrators.

To make LN's life easy, I want to do my 2 cents from my side. Eventhough I do not understand it, but since Dex & MT seem to suggest that my signature is not friendly, I am now removing my previous signature.  Also, in addition, I think all Indians have equal right to comment about any region of India and I think I made this point before too.

I know certain people may not take it at face value, but for whatever it is worth, this is a sincere post.

I was only bantering colonel. I think in Real Life, most folks here will get along fine. CP and Kban get along well in RL and fight to the core in DG...happens!

i have been visiting pretty often as a guest of late and have a few observations:
1. everybody on the DG is part of a small clique which is then further subdivided into 2 cliques based on our own loyalties.
2. we are so busy with our own agendas that we seldom bother to actually try and grow the DG in any way.
3. Maybe it would be helpfull if all mods except dex quit the gestapo and then you had elections . that way both cliques within their cliques would get a chance to have their dude or dudette(achutank, i apologize for the use of the dreaded d word) on the gestapo board.
4. most importantly it would be great if all of us could rope in 5 of our friends into the dg to make it bigger. then we could atleast have the neccessary quorum to form cliques.
