Will keep it short since am on vacation and the beach beckons...

An excellent move IMO. I think this will do wonders in restoring the trust in the mod team. Knowing LN he is a very balanced person and a person with integrity.

In the past I had always had this same trust in KBan's moderation but lately I have seen a lot more anger in him. Nothing wrong with it (shows his human side I guess). Having LN on the board will be a great move as he can provide the much needed balance and more importantly bring the trust back in the moderation team.

Overall its the trust factor that allows people to accept some hard decisions.

Kudos to Kban and others for taking this step and double kudos to LN for accepting. He truly has done this for the betterment of the DG.

As for the second, have you ever wondered about the need for trust to be mutual? I mean, it's not rare for you [and some of your esteemed brothers-in-arms] to needlessly resurrect topics that have been discussed and settled in a way as if they need to be thrashed out once again; ostensibly for humour, effectively to needle members on emotive issues, despite repeated requests from mods and other members to desist from the same. Or the deliberate mis-spellings that you've taken great pride in posting for a large part of this DG's existence. Or your signature that is basically a lame attempt at needling members of a community, and has inspired others [incl. myself] to follow suit, if only highlight your divisive influence. And I haven't even gone into the activities of other members of your 'clique'...

for whatever it is worth, here are my 2 cents. I really liked your suggestions for moderation a few days ago. Please do stick to the letter and spirit of those suggestions ( including making public all Mod actions) and I am sure many of the questions on moderation will die naturally. One more suggestion is my humble request for you to evenly and fairly apply the DG rules to everyone including MODS. Do these and nobody will ever question Mods again. Many issues/controversies on this DG will be solved if there is general trust in Mods.
