We are missing a fifth bowler. with the amount of reverse available bcoz of the dryness of the surface I believe AA would have been of more use than MK.We need the two spinners in the 2nd innings and we need 3 seamers in the 1st bcoz we don't have world class bowlers( may be kumble) who succeed in all conditions.

AA is a crap bowler. at what cost do we want someone who can reverse the ball? i think munaf would have been a safe bet though it would have been ballsy to have 2 bolwers make their debuts.

No, no more AA talk. Let us see what we do with the bowlers selected :) And where is everybody...?

Kumble gets FF with a little help from the SAf umpire. Ball dint straighen enuff and would have missed leg...  oh , well  ;D

And yeah, please leave AA out of this business. He's best doing whtever he's upto now. We can't keep hanging around with mediocrity for ever.

my prediction is 245/5

Definitely, Sreesanth will play all 3 tests. And unless we play 5 bowlers or get a green pitch and drop one spinner, don't think RPS/VRV/Munaf will get a test match this series.
I am not watching it live and can't tell the real quality behind SS's effort but from the spread of 4s every over, I am convinced that he is the same old. Lot of bad 'hit mes' amidst the odd good one. I never thought that he had guile and anything cerebral - as far as the thinking bowler type...IMHO, a wasted chance with someone who is never going to deliver except the odd wicket here and there.

I was watching for a while...Sreesanth is not going to 'kickass' any batsman worth the name. A pretty run of the mill "David Johnson" type. Will not last more than one season

No way.... unless he foes down due to injury or somwthing. Sreesanth has decent pace > 135 kph most of the time. swung the ball both ways. reversed the ball both ways. bowled with a lot of variety - slower  balls. used the crease very well, althouth that may have to do with the 2 warnings he got. he seems a thinking bowler and a real find to me. Only his 1st sepll was bad, where he sprayed the ball and bowled short too, but hey this is 1st test, some nerves can be expected. But he is no david johnson !!! not another 4-ball AA type bowler or another run of the mill bowler.

Was going down the leg side. just the angle from over the wicket. neither turned nor straightened enough. Freddie was quite unhappy too.

yes i think it was a high ball that dipped in and then turned sharply(about 4 feet) and was then going onto hit the stumps with great velocity but alas the lead pad of freddie was in the way and had to be given out.
wait a second. did i just say AK turned the ball. never mind i need a drink.

now...this is the crucial part of them game..to get Blackwell (who incidentally is in some form) and Hoggy..typically, Ind has failed in such cases in the past..a 225/6 score is normally allowed to drift to 300 or 325.

Blackwell, in my opinion , will succeed on this tour. He is very good attacking left handed batsmen and a very good defensive over the wicket spinner. So its like Giles with the ball and vettori with the bat, but a  umble in the field!!! not a bad combo

if we get them below 300, excellent job. even 350 would be not bad.

Blackwells dismissal was funny.
Nasser Hussain was iterating how he is not part of the English tail- he is a batsman who bowls a bit, hes got an excellent FC batting average, and a recent 200.
Then Blackwell gets bowled and Nasser Hussain had to apologize :D
