How people feel about booing
« on: May 23, 2007, 07:47:32 PM »
Looking at the debate in the other thread, wanted to see what people feel about this issue.

Note: All booings relate to booing your own team/player. I'm assuming most would be okay with booing an opponent.

For the record, I belong to the first category. I do not mind booing at all (of course, I'm against vulgarity, and physical abuse including bottle throwing or burning stuff up).

atticus, you need more options

supporting opposition team and booing indian team. I know what used happen in matches played in kashmir and it pained me a lot and I cannot believe that it happened in another place in india.

I want to see what people feel about supporting/jeering the home team. Cheering/jeering for opponents is an another beast that I don't want to tackle now.

The Pakistani team during its victory lap in the Chidambaram stadium during the India-Pakistan Test series of 1998-99. A sporting Chennai crowd did the country proud by giving the Pakistanis a standing ovation.

(only) chennai and tamilians ROCK!   ;D  ;D

keeping with the DG tradition, i need to see a thread on anti-national tamilians within the next 5 mins...

I'm not sure why we call desh-drohi crowds "sporting"  ::)

The crowd supported ind team while match was on, and once over they applauded victors. Hence!
Thats the diff versus this specific one and Eden SA incident.

Booing for any reason is okay. (The motivation for booing can be or should be evaluated seperately)

Booing opponents (cos they are opponents) is not okay.
