Who would have thunk..
when I was in India, I could not watch any game that was on NEO Sports (due to extremely poor coverage) and watching the WC on Sony-Max was a horrible experience..
Now while I am watching the game on Willow with ability to replay highlights etc (on demand).. look at what the audience in India is going through.
The strange ways of BCCI..

DTH, cable guys, DD all black out cricket

NEW DELHI, May 18: Huge swathes of the population were denied on Friday the chance of watching the India-Bangladesh Test. It wasn't on either DTH platform, Tata Sky or Dish TV. Some cable operators who had signed up were showing the match, but on the whole, few and far between.
Those who switched on DD National to see if the match was being shown there, didn't find it either. When they went a step further and checked out DD Sports, they were in for a surprise.
There was indeed live cricket on show, but India wasn't one of the teams playing. Instead, what they got to watch was the Sri Lanka-Pakistan One-dayer being played in Abu Dhabi.
In this virtual cricket blackout hides a story — the story of a continuing broadcasting mess. While DD has made it mandatory for all private broadcasters to share their ODI feed with it, it hasn't for Test matches.
So, legally, there isn't anything wrong with the match not coming on DD. Otherwise, too, mandatory sharing of all cricket involving India with DD would probably kill cricket broadcast commerce.
But what about the other intermediaries — the DTH players and the cable wallahs? There is no ‘must-carry' clause for them, although there has been talk about it for a long time.
