(USA)Online Movie Renting: NETFLIX vs BLOCKBUSTER Online - Which is better?

Apart from just casting your vote, if you use any of this service, can you please post your comments.

Any recommendations for other than these two?

with blockbuster you can get a lot more DVDs b/c each time you return a movie you can pick up more from your local blockbuster, HOWEVER if you like Hindi movies, documentaries, Indy movies, I've found netflix to have a better collection that they can deliver in a timely fashion.

quantity vs. quality i suppose. unless you watch mostly popular english movies, then def. go with blockbuster.

Two things about Blockbuster.

1) They have a deal with the USPS that they send out the next movies faster. They send the next movie AS SOON as the PO scans ur movie in at the local post office or distribution center.

2) The ability to go and return OR get movies from the local stores (They in the past gave local rental coupons even on their cheapest rental plan) is an awesome advantage. If u really want to watch something right now u still can do it and not wait a few days for the movie to come (Specially if you are a procastrinator and havent sent the last one back yet)

Thanks for the info.

Question: When you say you can pick up more from "local blockbuster" - do you mean to say you return them via the postal service (we are talking abt blockbuster online equivalent of netflix here) and then pick up more at local store in-person? or wait till it arrives in mail? Basically, both options available.

And other folks - overall do you feel the choices that Netflix has is better than blockbuster? (even for English movies)

In such case, are you bound by the "return by date deadline" for local store pickups (say you pick up Movie M at local store)? or do you get the convenience of return "whenever you want" but you will get the next movie in-mail *after* returning the M movie. Essentially do you get the return whenever you are done convenience or not?

I have the Blockbuster $18 online renting plan. I can rent upto 3 DVDs at a time. Usually get them withing 2 days of putting in my queue. Then when I have seen the movies, I take them to the nearest Blockbuster store, in their return envelopes. By returning those 3 DVDs in store, I can rent 3 more DVDs right there and then, from the store. These 3 are free. Also, these 3 new DVDs I just rented don't have anything to do with my queue. I can rent DVDs that are not in my queue. When I return the online DVDs in store, 3 new spaces will open in my queue and Blockbuster will mail me the next 3 DVD from my queue. In the meantime, I can watch the DVDs I rented from store.

It is a cool deal. But Indian movies are very very limited.

I need to devote less time to DG and watch more movies 
(perhaps that is why dex is encouraging movies )
